Saksham is a women empowerment program of SMS implemented in 191 villages of 11 Blocks of four civil districts of Maharashtra. In this program, women are empowered through the formation and strengthening of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and various training and skill development programs, thus making a self-sustaining society.
Sangh Mission promotes Self Help Groups (SHGs) as a platform for holistic development of women in the rural villages which can be a ripple for the development of the villages. As of today there are 656 SHGs, –¬40 village-level federations of SHGs, and 50 farmers’ clubs formed in all four districts through the ‘Saksham’ program and there is an overwhelming response from women and men to form more SHGs.
